Job summary

Nelnet's NextGen portfolio seeks a Group Product Manager to own one or more NextGen solutions, lead a small PM team, and align across engineering, design, sales, and client support. You will shape the product vision and roadmap, drive AI initiatives to reduce manual work for campus staff, and ensure compliant, scalable releases for colleges and students.

This player-coach role requires 6+ years of PM experience and a proven ability to mentor others while delivering measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a strong track record of shipping products yourself.
• 1+ year mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
• Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
• Track record of personally shipping AI-enabled or data-driven software products with measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio, translating business goals into a sequenced plan.
• Identify opportunities to connect the portfolio—shared workflows, integrations, and data.
• Identify and build practical applications of AI across the portfolio, pushing for experiences that reduce manual work for campus staff.
