Job summary

Nelnet's NextGen group seeks an experienced Group Product Manager to own multiple NextGen solutions—leading discovery, writing requirements, and shipping with engineering and design partners. You will shape a cohesive strategy across NextGen’s portfolio and guide a small PM team.

You will mentor PMs, drive cross‑functional collaboration with sales, implementation, and client support, and identify practical AI opportunities to reduce manual work for campus staff and students.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with a strong track record of shipping products yourself, including 1+ years mentoring or directly managing other Product Managers.
• Experience partnering with go‑to‑market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
• Track record of personally shipping AI‑enabled or data‑driven software products with measurable business impact.
• Proven ability to align and influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and commercial functions.

Responsibilities

• Hands‑On Product Ownership: own one or more NextGen solutions end to end—discovery, requirements, prioritization, and shipping with engineering and design.
• Team Leadership & Development: mentor and grow a small team of Product Managers and foster high‑agency culture.
• Product Strategy & Execution: own vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio and connect opportunities across solutions.
