Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a Group Product Manager for NextGen portfolio to own multiple solutions, guide a small PM team, and shape strategy across product discovery, requirements, and delivery. You’ll align engineering, design, sales, and client support to land impactful releases for campus admins and students.

You’ll drive vision, mentor PMs, and partner with GTM teams to launch AI-enabled, data-driven software in higher education tech, fintech, and payments spaces, balancing strategy with hands-on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Business, CS, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of product management experience with shipping products; 1+ year mentoring PMs.
• Experience partnering with go-to-market teams to launch complex SaaS or platform products.
• Track record of shipping AI-enabled or data-driven software with measurable business impact.
• Ability to align and influence across engineering, design, and commercial functions.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across the NextGen portfolio.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of Product Managers; foster high-agency culture.
• Partner with sales, marketing, and implementation for market-ready launches.
• Collaborate with engineering on architecture and delivery cadence; manage trade-offs.
• Define success metrics across the portfolio and drive accountability.
