Primary Purpose:


Responsible for the development and implementation of Norfolk Southern's pricing strategy for the International Intermodal and Automotive businesses.


Principal Duties:



  • Produce market revenue and profit growth by leading and managing pricing across the International Intermodal and Automotive business groups.




  • Implement pricing guidelines and actions that balance the strategic direction and pricing policies of the business segments with the need to set market competitive pricing in the highly price competitive truckload marketplace.




  • Communication of the price plan as well as long- and medium-term impact of pricing decisions to market managers and the rest of the International and Automotive commercial teams, as well as other internal NS stakeholders.




  • Conducts regular numerical analyses on volume and pricing data to ensure pricing decisions are in compliance with NS pricing guidelines regarding profitability and business development strategy.




  • Initiates and participates in special studies that review price strategy and tactics, revenue yield, asset utilization, traffic flows, train and terminal capacity and price publications.




  • Supervises pricing managers in the day-to-day implementation of pricing guidelines.




  • Collaboration with Intermodal and Automotive Planning team regarding the development of pricing systems and analytical tools related to pricing analysis and rate publication.




  • Manage a team of 2 Managers Pricing



Job Related Experience:
Minimum Level: 3-5 years
Preferred Level: 5-7 years


Education:


Preferred Level: Master's Degree (BS, BA)


Preferred Majors: Business, Logistics
