Job Description

GKN Automotive is a market leader in conventional, all-wheel, and electrified drive systems and solutions. We design, develop, manufacture, and integrate a wide range of driveline technologies for over 90% of the world’s car manufacturers.

Role Purpose

Ensure business KPIs are met by creating production schedules, managing manpower, coaching the team for continuous improvement in product quality and efficiency. Responsible for safety, quality, budgets, cleanliness, culture, and professional development of team members. Build the team and plan for succession.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver KPIs, business, and people strategies.
  • Standardize policies, procedures, and work standards across the area.
  • Provide leadership to Team Leaders and set cultural standards.
  • Coach Team Leaders and maintain a physical presence on the shift, including safety and productivity oversight.
  • Ensure communication flow within teams.
  • Review production priorities and support start-up activities.
  • Manage performance, attendance, training, and development of employees.
  • Handle disciplinary issues and conflicts.
  • Assist in meeting customer and business requirements.
  • Develop employee work schedules.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure process control and documentation are maintained.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and processes as trained.
  • Ensure conformance to IATF 16949 and other safety and quality standards.
  • Facilitate team meetings on quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Coordinate with HR on manpower needs.
  • Enforce environmental, health, safety, and quality policies.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 2-5 years in assembly/machining manufacturing within ISO 14001, OSHA 18001, and IATF 16949 environments.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
  • Basic proficiency in Office and timekeeping systems.
  • Presentation and analytical problem-solving skills.
