Job summary

Flexcraft, a stable family-owned plastics manufacturer in Neptune City, NJ, is seeking a Group Leader to supervise a production team and oversee a designated group of machines during each shift. You will drive performance, maintain safety, and uphold quality standards on the floor.

This full-time role offers a 12-hour rotating schedule (2-2-3) with day and night shifts, opportunities to advance into Supervisory and operations leadership, and a pathway to lead continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • Previous leadership, team lead, trainer, or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in GMP, ISO, Lean, or 5S manufacturing environments.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment, processes, and production workflows.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for long shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a group of production employees and work centers during your shift.
  • Ensure materials, components, and supplies are available to support uninterrupted production.
  • Monitor production performance, downtime, scrap, and reporting accuracy.
  • Verify employees are trained, qualified, and following standard work procedures.
  • Coordinate job changes, line clearances, setups, and work order transitions.
  • Assign break and relief coverage and support daily staffing needs.
  • Promote and enforce PPE, GMP, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready work areas in line with 5S standards.
  • Review production documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coach, develop, and hold team members accountable for performance expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and organization.
  • Fill in for the Supervisor and lead shift meetings when necessary.

As a Group Leader, you'll lead a team of production employees and oversee a designated group of machines throughout your shift. You'll help keep production running smoothly, support employee development, solve problems before they become downtime, and ensure safety and quality standards are met every day.

This role serves as a key leadership position between production employees and Supervisors and is often the next step for individuals who aspire to grow into a Supervisor role.

What You'll Do

Qualifications

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Injection molding and/or blow molding experience
  • Experience with IQMS or similar ERP/manufacturing software
  • Inventory control experience
