Job summary

Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA is seeking a Group Leader Maintenance Mechanic to support the Facilities Maintenance team. This full-time, day-shift position reports to the Supervisor and involves organizing work, ensuring materials and tools are available, and performing maintenance tasks as needed.

Candidates should have a High School diploma, 3 years maintenance experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years job related experience including mechanical training and hands on experience in repair of stationary or mobile equipment.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must pass a written test and hands on skills demonstration with a minimum passing score of 75%.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible to assist Supervisor in daily operations of the Maintenance Mechanic shop. Organize and schedule work assignments. Assure materials, supplies and tools are available for completion of assigned tasks. Perform duties of Maintenance Mechanic as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Three (3) years job related experience including mechanical training and hands on experience in repair of stationary or mobile equipment required.

• Valid Driver's License required.

• Must be able to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions; use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams and schematics, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments and use shop mathematics equivalent to 1 to 3 years applied trades training.

• Must pass a written test and hands on skills demonstration with a minimum passing score of 75%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Industrial Building maintenance and leadership experience are preferred.

• Operation of tractors, forklifts, bucket trucks, high lifts and other types of equipment preferred.
