Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Research & Development Senior Manager to lead the Integrated Nanotechnologies Group, driving nanoscience at the nexus of materials, quantum science, and advanced manufacturing. You will also serve as Co-Director for CINT, coordinating a multi-institutional program with LANL.

The role requires a PhD and at least a decade of research leadership, with a proven track record mentoring researchers and managing complex facilities.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics, chemistry, or materials with 10 years of research experience.
• Minimum of three years of formal supervisory/managerial leadership experience.
• Demonstrated achievements in nanoscience, nanotechnology, quantum science, microelectronics or materials science.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Integrated Nanotechnologies Group (50-60 staff) within the Materials, Physical, and Chemical Sciences Center.
• Serve as Co-Director for the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT).
• Implement safety, environment, security, and quality policies; ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with the Center management team and partner with LANL to guide a multi-institutional enterprise.
• Support Sandia's DOE/NNSA dual missions and oversee an active user program (~500/year).
• Maintain Sandia-LANL partnership and align CINT strategy with DOE objectives.
