Job summary
Danville is seeking a Residential Group Home Assistant Manager to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home setting. You will assist the Program Manager, help plan daily activities, and ensure a safe, engaging living environment.
Responsibilities include supervising direct support staff, organizing outings, monitoring daily living tasks, and reporting health or behavior changes.
Qualifications
- Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license for 3+ years to transport individuals in Danville vans
- At least 1+ years of caregiving experience is preferred
- Strong caregiving skills focused on supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
- Excellent communication with individuals and families
Responsibilities
- Assist Program Manager with duties as assigned
- Conduct emergency drills
- Plan daily activities and outings
- Provide creative and fun learning opportunities
- Check staff documentation for accuracy
- Cover open shifts when needed
- Provide compassionate care and support to residents
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and medication management
- Observe and report changes in behavior or health status
- Maintain a clean and safe group home environment
- Foster effective communication with residents and families
- Collaborate with the team to ensure high-quality care
