Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Level II Group Exercise Instructor to lead multiple group fitness classes at the Robert D. Fowler Family YMCA. You will select music, set up and tear down, and educate participants on THE COACH APPROACH® and fitness topics.

Requirements include teaching experience and national certifications. Responsibilities include maintaining safety, staying current on wellness issues, and contributing to a welcoming, service-oriented environment for all members

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required for eligibility.
Must be 18 years or older at hire date.
One year of teaching group exercise or related experience.
Land instructors: national group exercise certs (ACE/ACSM/AFAA/NETA) and COACH APPROACH orientation within 30 days.
Water instructors: national water cert via AEA and COACH APPROACH orientation within 30 days.
Maintain certifications via Y-Link; CPR/AED current; ongoing CE credits.

Responsibilities

Lead YMCA group exercise classes, ensure safety and proper music selection.
Set up and break down equipment; educate participants on COACH APPROACH and wellness topics.
Attend required staff trainings and meetings; maintain branch certifications.
Log attendance and coordinate substitutions as needed; follow risk and safety guidelines.
Support YMCA mission and community engagement through classes and activities.
