Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Level II Group Exercise Instructor to lead classes, select music, and educate participants on THE COACH APPROACH®. The role requires maintaining wellness certifications, coordinating class logistics, and staying current with safety guidelines at the Northeast Cobb YMCA.

You will log attendance in GroupEx PRO, coordinate substitutes, and collaborate with wellness teams to promote healthy living and community engagement.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• National group exercise certification (ACE/ACSM/AFAA/NETA) required.
• AEA water certification required for water instructors.
• YMCA/ACE online Group Exercise Instructor Certification required.
• S&C certification may be required for certain formats.
• CPR/AED certification must be current and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily group exercise tasks and class setup.
• Promote, monitor, and ensure smooth class operation with high service.
• Maintain CPR/AED and other required certifications.
• Log attendance in GroupEx PRO and check for updates twice weekly.
• Arrange substitute instructors when needed and follow safety rules.
• Adhere to COACH APPROACH and YMCA risk guidelines.
