Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a part-time Group Exercise Instructor II in Covington, GA. You will lead group exercise classes, ensure safety, and maintain certifications while following the YMCA’s coaching approach and program standards.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year teaching group exercises, hold a national cert, and are prepared to complete YMCA ACE certification within 60 days of hire. CPR/AED and applicable trainings are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of group exercise teaching experience.
• Current national group exercise certification (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or NETA) required.
• Water instructors require AEA certification and related training.
• Must obtain YMCA ACE online Group Exercise Instructor Certification within 60 days of hire.
• Maintain CPR/AED certification and other required Wellness certifications.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily program tasks related to group exercise.
• Promote and monitor classes to ensure high-quality service for participants.
• Maintain CPR/AED and other required certifications.
• Log class attendance in GroupEx PRO and check for facility updates at least twice weekly.
• Secure a substitute instructor promptly when unavailable.
