Job summary

The Coatesville YMCA is seeking a part-time Cycle Instructor to lead group exercise classes in Coatesville, PA 19320, following YMCA guidelines and standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Availability morning and weekend hours.
• At least 1 year of participation in group exercise class(es).
• Must possess and maintain at least one Group Exercise certificate of completion or specialty certificate for each modality from a reputable organization.
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct group exercise classes and provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous and professional manner.
• Be a positive YMCA role model with an enthusiastic attitude.
• All scheduled classes will be held, and sub coverage secured.
• Classes will start and end on time.
• Greet participants and learn their names.
• Take class attendance.
• Familiarize yourself with our Upace Group Ex technology (sub tracking, class contact, etc.).
• Check and respond to YMCA email in a timely fashion.
• Identify participants' limitations and adapt classes or provide modifications accordingly.
• Properly and safely utilize all equipment associated with your class.
• Promote a healthy lifestyle.
• Attend advanced training workshops offered by the YMCA of Greater Brandywine.
• Participate in special events and open houses.
• Ensure compliance with YGBW policies and SOPs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Cycle Instructor - Instruct group exercise classes according to the guidelines set forth by the YMCA of the USA and the Director of Group Exercise.

What You'll Do
