The Group Ex Instructor is responsible for teaching fitness classes in a safe and effective manner at Dawg Fitness. Instructors must have polished techniques and knowledge of safety, body mechanics, fitness, and wellness. Instructors will also learn to improve their leadership and communication skills through various team trainings throughout the year. This position reports to the Group Ex Student Manager and the Fitness Programs Manager.

The University Centers Student Employment Program Wage Classification Scale classifies this position as Division I, Range I.
Applicants must be available to work between 5-7 hours per week during the semester and attend staff meetings and events as necessary, including occasional weekend shifts. They must complete all required instructor training before leading independent sessions. Successful applicants must complete Adult CPR, AED, and First AID certification courses within 8 weeks of beginning employment. Certification sessions will be provided by the University Centers. These certifications must be kept up to date throughout employment with the University Centers. Where applicable, Concussion Protocol Training will also be provided by the University Centers and must be completed within the same timeframe.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with at least two semesters remaining at UWSP.
The Group Ex Instructor must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits) and be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment.
