Job summary

Intuit's Payments Platform is the core infrastructure powering money movement across QuickBooks, Bill Pay, GoPayment, and Merchant Payments. As Group Engineering Manager for Payments Platform, you will lead a team of 40–60 engineers and 3–5 engineering managers, owning the reliability, evolution, and delivery of Intuit's most critical payment processing systems.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering
• 5+ years leading engineering managers in a multi-team org
• Proven track record delivering large-scale payments/fintech platforms
• Strong depth in distributed systems and cloud-native architectures
• Experience owning delivery against business KPIs and collaborating with Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of the Payments Platform roadmap across Bill Pay, Merchant Payments, Gateway, and PPF core infrastructure
• Drive quarterly sprint execution across multiple sub-teams with focus on reliability and compliance
• Lead platform migrations and modernization programs (e.g., payment authorization service migrations, event bus modernization, API-first platform evolution)
• Establish engineering operating rhythms: sprint reviews, incident retrospectives, KPI tracking, cross-team dependency management
• Set architectural direction for the payments processing framework — distributed systems, real-time processing, idempotency, settlement infrastructure
• Guide adoption of modern engineering practices: progressive rollouts, chaos engineering, multi-region failover, observability
• Evaluate and drive AI-first capabilities within the payments platform (routing, anomaly detection, automation)
• Ensure platform meets PCI-DSS, SOX, and Intuit security/compliance standards while maintaining velocity
• Lead, coach, and develop 3–5 engineering managers; build succession paths
• Partner with recruiting to attract senior engineering talent
• Drive performance management, calibration, and career growth across the org
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Finance to align platform decisions
