Job summary

VML Health seeks a strategic Group Director of Engagement Strategy to lead health-focused engagement programs, shaping omnichannel strategies and strong client partnerships. You will mentor junior strategists, oversee major client projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid WPP environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, client stewardship and innovative, data-driven CX planning. The base salary range is $100,000–$230,000 USD with competitive benefits and a hybrid work

Qualifications

• 7–13 years of experience in market research, strategic planning, and CX in healthcare.
• Proven experience in managing and mentoring teams.
• Deep understanding of omnichannel strategy across channels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships at the senior level.
• Experience delivering compelling client presentations and proposals.
• Healthcare industry knowledge, including HCP and DTC marketing.
• Collaborative, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of clients’ customers and journeys across the full customer lifecycle.
• Lead engagement and omnichannel strategy across social, CRM, website, paid media, apps and more.
• Guide Associate Directors and Directors in strategy development.
• Collaborate with strategists, Client Engagement, Medical, and Creative teams on brand and communications strategies.
• Manage senior client relationships as a key strategic partner.
• Set expectations for segment/audience fit and project design.
• Oversee strategy development on major clients or multiple accounts.
• Motivate junior strategists and mentor team growth.
• Lead workshops, measurement strategies, analytics approaches, CX planning and proposals.
• Contribute to new business pitches and strategic direction.
