Job summary

Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is seeking a Group Counselor to support the IOP program. The schedule runs Monday–Friday 5:30AM–1:30PM with a rotating Saturday shift.

Rhode Island licensure (CADC/LCDP/LADC/LCADC) is required, with licensure pursuit allowed on hire. You will work with clinical teams to admit patients using ASAM criteria, provide evidence-based counseling, and deliver core curricula (Matrix Model, Seeking Safety, CBT).

Qualifications

• The Counselor must hold one of the listed licenses: CADC, LCDP, LADC or LCADC for Rhode Island.
• If not fully licensed, candidates must be enrolled in or pursuing licensure at hire.
• Experience in addiction treatment and interaction with interdisciplinary teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary ambassador for the IOP program and uphold its mission and values.
• Collaborate with clinical teams, case managers, and support staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Conduct admissions using ASAM criteria to ensure proper level of care.
• Provide evidence-based counseling and crisis support to enrolled patients.
• Deliver program curriculum (Matrix Model, Seeking Safety, CBT) 3 hours/day, 4 days/week.
