Job summary

EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC is seeking an experienced Treatment Plant Operator to support the operation and maintenance of a groundwater treatment system at Kirtland Air Force Base. This hands-on role focuses on solving technical challenges while ensuring regulatory compliance and system performance.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of water treatment experience, strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills, and SCADA familiarity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating and maintaining water, wastewater, groundwater treatment, or similar industrial process systems.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience maintaining pumps, motors, valves, controls, instrumentation, and related process equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support the continuous operation of a groundwater extraction and treatment system at Kirtland Air Force Base.
• Monitor, operate, and optimize treatment processes to maintain system performance and regulatory compliance.
• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on treatment equipment and associated infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process control issues.
• Collect water samples and maintain accurate operational records and maintenance documentation.
• Inspect, maintain, and optimize extraction and injection wells.
• Assist with the operation and maintenance of pumps, valves, meters, chemical feed systems, and treatment components.
• Utilize SCADA and control systems to monitor performance and identify operational concerns.
• Partner with project managers and engineers to anticipate, prevent, and resolve operational issues.
• Participate in addressing occasional after-hours operational needs.
