Job summary

HDR is hiring a Groundwater Modeler/Hydrogeologist in the Philadelphia area to support groundwater and contaminant fate modeling projects. You will work under senior modelers to set up mathematical models, analyze environmental data, and participate in meetings and reporting.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering/science or oceanography, strong analytical skills, and experience with MODFLOW, MT3DMS and Python, MATLAB or R.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering/science, oceanography or closely related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
• Active participant in employee-owned culture is a must
• Candidates residing in the Philadelphia area preferred

Responsibilities

• Work under senior modelers using prescribed methods in groundwater and contaminant fate and transport modeling projects
• Evaluate groundwater movement, contaminant fate, transport, and subsidence due to overwithdrawal
• Acquire, organize and analyze environmental data
• Set up and execute mathematical models
• Perform quality-control checks on model input and results
• Participate in project meetings, proposal prep, report writing and presentations
• Develop statistical and graphical comparisons of model results and data
