Job summary

HDR seeks a Groundwater Modeler/Hydrogeologist to work under experienced modelers on groundwater and contaminant fate modeling projects in the Philadelphia area. The role involves data analysis, model setup and quality control, with opportunities to contribute to meetings, proposals, and reports.

Preferred candidates hold advanced degrees in hydrogeology or environmental engineering and have experience with MODFLOW and related tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering/science, oceanography or closely related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite.
Self-motivated and able to work independently and with a project team.

Responsibilities

Work under senior modelers on groundwater and contaminant fate modeling projects.
Evaluate groundwater movement and contaminant fate/transport.
Acquire, organize and analyze environmental data.
Set up and execute mathematical models.
Perform quality-control checks on model input and results.
Participate in project meetings, proposal prep, reports and presentations.
Develop statistical and graphical comparisons of model results and data.
Perform other duties as needed.
