Job summary

XKIG is seeking a Groundsperson to support a crew by performing ground-based tasks such as clearing brush and trees and handling job-site clean-up. A valid driver’s license is required, and the role involves driving a truck and operating removal tools on diverse terrains.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, debris removal, operating hand tools, setting up traffic signs, and assisting with storm restoration work when needed. This is a full-time position with health benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or education equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in vegetation management, construction, landscaping, or related fields preferred.
• Must be able to drag heavy limbs and operate hand tools in uneven terrain.

Responsibilities

• Always follow and help enforce safe practices and rules.
• Keep work area clear of debris.
• Work from the ground and clear undergrowth from right-of-way using saws and pruners.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Use hand lines to lower limbs and equipment.
• Perform general clean-up of job sites after work is finished.
• Carry, prepare, and store materials, tools and equipment at the site.
• Set up and break down road signs as directed.
• Flag traffic to protect employees and the public from harm.
• Drive truck or operate other equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment; report major repairs.
• Enforce safe job practices and stay in communication with crew.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
