Job summary

The Groundsperson position with Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services in Georgia supports the crew from the ground, adhering to safety rules to maintain a clean, safe work zone. A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities include clearing work areas, operating handsaws, pruners, and gas-powered equipment to cut brush and trees, setting up staging areas, and loading debris. Overtime and weekend work may be required; CDL is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license required. CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work from the ground to support the crew while following safety rules.
• Use handsaws, pole saws, pruners, and gas-powered tools to cut brush and trees.
• Define staging areas and set up/take down materials and equipment.
• Feed brush into a woodchipper and load/unload debris from trucks.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment; report major repairs.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards and flag traffic.
• Able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.
