# GroundsmanKingdom City, MO 65262## OverviewPosition TypeFull Time## GroundsmanGroundsmanThe Groundsman supports electrical distribution crews with the construction, maintenance, and restoration of overhead power distribution systems. This position performs ground-level support, assists linemen with tools and materials, prepares jobsites, operates equipment as qualified, and helps maintain a safe and organized work area. The Groundsman must follow all company and industry safety requirements and be prepared to travel and assist with storm restoration as needed.**Key Responsibilities*** Assist linemen and electrical distribution crews with construction, maintenance, and system restoration.* Prepare jobsites, materials, tools, and equipment for daily operations.* Assist with setting poles, handling conductors, and other overhead distribution work.* Operate trucks, equipment, and machinery as trained and authorized.* Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and clean, safe jobsites.* Follow all required company, OSHA, and electrical utility safety procedures.* Communicate effectively with foremen, crew members, contractors, customers, and the public.* Travel for work assignments as required.* Participate in storm restoration, including work outside normal business hours when necessary.**Required Qualifications*** Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement.* OSHA 10 Certification.* Minimum 1 year of hands-on overhead electrical utility experience.* Knowledge of tools, materials, equipment, and safe work practices used in electrical distribution.* Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems and the hazards associated with electrical utility work.* Ability to climb poles and work safely at elevated heights.* Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.* Ability to take direction and coaching while meeting safety and production expectations.* Ability to operate industry equipment such as bucket trucks, material handlers, stake body trucks, lift gates, and elevating platforms as qualified.* Knowledge of applicable electrical utility safety standards and work practices.* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a crew.* Willingness to travel and perform storm restoration work.**Preferred Qualifications*** Associate's degree in Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) or equivalent field experience.* Pole Top Rescue certification or experience.* Bucket Truck Rescue certification or experience.* CPR and First Aid certification.* Equi-Potential Grounding training.* Buck Squeeze Safety System training.**Work Environment*** Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.* Work may involve climbing poles, using aerial lifts, and working around energized electrical distribution systems.* Must be available for callouts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.* Travel may be required for regular assignments, storm restoration, and mutual aid.**Physical Requirements*** Must have the strength, balance, coordination, and stamina required for physically demanding electrical utility work.* Frequently push, pull, carry, and handle heavy tools, cables, materials, and equipment.* Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 80 pounds unassisted.* Ability to lift heavier materials with assistance.* Must be comfortable working at heights and maintaining balance while climbing or working from elevated positions.
