Job summary

PowerGrid Services, LLC seeks crew members for field construction and maintenance of overhead power lines in diverse weather and terrains. You will perform manual tasks, assist linemen, assemble materials, and help set up sites with traffic control.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Requires Class A level experience installing and maintaining underground power lines.
• Valid CDL A is preferred.
• First Aid Certification is required.
• CPR and pole top rescue competency is required.
• Experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, trenchers, and groundwork with utility crews is required.
• Must be able to pass drug, alcohol, and background checks.
• Must be able to pass a physical examination.
• Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able and willing to work for extended periods in various locations.
• Able and willing to work in all types of weather environments including inclement weather.
• Able and willing to work overtime when required.
• Understanding of the utility industry and operations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs various manual tasks in the construction and maintenance of overhead power lines, including digging trenches, setting poles, installing wires and transformers, and assisting the lineman.
• Assemble materials on the ground and hoist them into the work area using handlines.
• Assist crew members in filling pole holes and trenches with a shovel.
• Flag traffic and set up job sites as directed.
• Maintain organization of tools and materials on work vehicles.
• Clean up and organize job sites at completion of work.
