Job summary

Village Lofts – 309-G Pisgah Church Rd, Greensboro, NC 27455 is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain exterior spaces and support the maintenance team. This entry‑level role is outdoors‑oriented and ideal for someone who enjoys active work and community upkeep.

You will help with cleaning, landscaping tasks, and upkeep of sidewalks, signage, and outdoor amenities, while supporting residents and events as needed. Hawthorne provides growth opportunities and a benefits‑rich environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent.
• One year of maintenance, repair, or HVAC experience is preferred but not required.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough cleaning and pick-up of debris or trash throughout exterior areas of the property.
• Maintain cleanliness of sidewalks, breezeways, parking lots, green spaces, and community signage areas.
• Ensure community trash receptacles, compactor areas, and pet stations are well-maintained and free of debris.
• Assist with light landscaping tasks including raking, weeding, trimming, and watering as directed by the maintenance team.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of pool deck areas, courtyards, grilling stations, benches, and outdoor amenities.
• Assist with light painting of curbs, signposts, and exterior touch-ups as needed.
• Conduct light checks around the property and replace exterior bulbs as needed.
• Help maintain shop and storage areas in a clean and organized manner to support quick inventory assessment.
• Assist with preparation of vacant, unoccupied apartments with light cleaning or removal of debris as requested
• Assist the team with the distribution of communications to residents’ doors.
• Assist the maintenance team with seasonal tasks including storm/snow preparation or cleanup.
• Promote good professional relations with residents, co-workers, and company staff.
