Job summary

Eagle Schools is seeking a Groundskeeper / Facilities Maintenance staff to maintain district grounds, operate landscaping and snow removal equipment, and support irrigation and turf care across district properties.

Responsibilities include maintaining lawns, fields, trees, and shrubbery, operating mowers, irrigation clocks, and handling preventive maintenance while ensuring safety and compliance in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Colorado driver's license and ability to meet district insurability requirements.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of landscaping, irrigation systems, and grounds equipment operation.
• Experience with small engine repair preferred.
• Ability to operate landscaping and snow removal equipment safely.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, athletic fields, flower beds, trees, and shrubs across district properties.
• Operate commercial landscaping equipment, including riding and push mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
• Perform seasonal groundskeeping tasks, including planting, pruning, and debris removal.
• Operate snow removal equipment to maintain safe access to district facilities.
• Operate and transport heavy equipment, including skid steers and tractors, using appropriate trucks and trailers.
• Assist with irrigation system startup, shutdown, and repairs.
• Monitor and adjust irrigation systems, including clock settings as needed.
• Apply fertilizers, soil amendments, and approved chemicals using proper safety procedures and equipment.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of tools, vehicles, and equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on grounds equipment annually.
• Report equipment issues and needed repairs to appropriate personnel.
• Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate PPE.
• Report hazardous conditions to the Director of Facilities or appropriate personnel immediately.
• Wear appropriate work attire in accordance with department standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with district staff and the public.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
