Ithaca College seeks a Groundskeeper to operate various grounds-keeping equipment, maintain greenery, and ensure campus cleanliness. The role requires a valid NYS driver's license and experience with grounds maintenance. The position is essential during emergencies and entails a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Job Summary:
Operate a variety of grounds-keeping equipment and vehicles; assist in repair and maintenance of equipment; perform routine grounds maintenance tasks including lawn care, landscaping, and repair of walkways and parking lots. Operate mini compactors and process solid waste, campus recycling material and compost; transport waste and materials to local transfer stations and compost centers. This position is considered to be essential during emergency situations and the incumbent is subject to being requested to report to work and periodically serve as part of the grounds on-call rotation during the winter and spring months.

Qualifications:
Experience operating light grounds, landscaping, and/or construction equipment; possession of a valid NYS driver's license with continued adherence to the standards set forth by the Office of Risk Management; demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision; experience operating various grounds keeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, edging tools and snow blowers; ability to operated a minim compactor, lift 60 pounds, and climb a six-foot ladder; good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment are required. Two years or more of relevant experience, preferred.
This position is 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
