Job summary

Theuniversityunion is seeking a Maintenance/Grounds position in York, PA. Pay is commensurate with experience, with strong emphasis on safety, customer service, and reliable transportation.

This full-time role requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to work flexible hours across property sites. Responsibilities include curb appeal, building exteriors maintenance, seasonal grounds duties, inventory and equipment care, and professional communication with residents and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record and criminal background check.
  • Access to dedicated and reliable transportation.
  • Able and willing to work flexible hours.
  • Able to prioritize and schedule work assignments according to property needs while ensuring an outstanding level of customer service.
  • Ability to work with confidential information.
  • Able to perform the essential physical qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high level of curb appeal by policing property, removing trash and debris; checking for abandoned vehicles, property damage etc. and report suspected lease violations to Property Manager.
  • Conduct maintenance and upkeep of building exteriors, common areas and grounds through Service Requests or direction by Management.
  • Perform seasonal grounds duties as needed.
  • Contribute in the organization and inventory control of the Maintenance Shop and other storage areas; with emphasis on safety concerns and unit keys.
  • Participate in the care, maintenance, and inventory of all company owned equipment.
  • Application of all safety standards and practices associated with maintenance operations.
  • Effectively communicate with residents, vendors and other employees in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment as tasks dictate.
  • Assist other team members and complete other projects and duties as assigned

Essential Physical Qualifications

  • Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Takes direction from the Director of Property Maintenance, Regional Maintenance Supervisor, Property Manager and Regional Property Manager
