Job summary

The Greenbrier Hotel is seeking a Groundskeeper 2 to maintain the resort landscape and perform seasonal tasks.

Responsibilities include mowing, edging, weed eating, mulching, plant installations, hand watering, daily flower bed care, and safe operation of mowing equipment. Working hours are 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with some weekend variation for snow removal and projects.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Prefer (not required) at least 2 years landscape experience.
• Must be able to operate mowing equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, edgers and blowers.
• Demonstrate initiative and landscape competency daily.

Job description

Position: Groundskeeper 2

Department: Grounds

Primary Responsibilities:

• Seasonal mowing, edging, weed eating, blowing, etc.
• Tree and plant demo / installation
• Mulching
• Hand watering of large landscape beds, trees and sod areas
• Daily maintenance of annual flower beds
• Practicing safety daily with use of equipment and hand tools

Normal Working Hours:

• 7:00 a.m.
• – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with exception of snow removal and special projects
• Saturday and Sunday work may vary

Work Experience:

• Prefer(not required) to have at least 2 years landscape experience
• Must be able to operate mowing equipment such as but not limited to mowers, weed eaters, edger’s, blowers, etc.
• Proven to have the will to take initiative and demonstrate landscape competency daily

Educational Requirements:

• Must have High School Diploma or GED

Communication Skills:

• Thorough understanding of Forbes Five Star standards and service
• Self motivating daily which demonstrates the quality and efficiency expected by management
