Performs a variety of ground care tasks aimed at enhancing the overall appearance of the resort exterior. Must always follow the rules and regulations as set forth by the latest Employee Handbook.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with resort standards, including working weekends and holidays; follow procedures for clocking in and out.
  2. Empties all trash cans on grounds two times per day.
  3. Cleans charcoal and gas grills regularly.
  4. Mops and wipes down the interior of elevators daily.
  5. Blows off beach boardwalk daily.
  6. Walks the entire property, both exterior and under buildings, picking up trash and debris to help maintain a clean environment for all employees, owners, and guests.
  7. Adjusts beach water condition flags daily as needed.
  8. Vacuum hallways in buildings K and L.
  9. Pull weeds from the ‘crop circles’.
  10. Replenishes mutt-mitts in receptacles throughout the property.
  11. Checks exterior lighting for burned-out light bulbs.
  12. Keeps hallways, stairwells, and exterior light fixtures free of cobwebs and bugs.
  13. Always conducts oneself in a professional manner.
  14. Maintains proper dress code; keeps uniforms neat and clean, and wears them during working hours.
  15. Reports hazardous conditions for the safety of all employees and guests, including placing wet floor signs in necessary areas during inclement weather or as needed.
  16. Accepts constructive criticism and follows posted work rules and procedures.
  17. Follows directions from a supervisor and interacts well with co-workers, subordinates, and supervisors.
  18. Participates in all required health and OSHA safety meetings/classes.
  19. Performs any other duties assigned by the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Front Desk Supervisor, or VRI Director of Resorts.

General Statement: Performs assigned job duties in compliance with company policies, business ethics, FLSA regulations, and applicable laws, ensuring confidentiality, reliability, quality, and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of proper ground care methods, including knowledge of various lawn, plant, and tree varieties.
  • Experience with ground care equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and edgers, and an understanding of sprinkler systems.
  • Ability to read simple words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers; basic English speaking and comprehension skills.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions and deal with standardized situations.
  • Background check required.
  • Dependable with the ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable around machinery and tolerant of heat.
  • Quick learner, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
