Job Title: Groundskeeper

We are hiring immediately for full-time GROUNDSKEEPER positions at Johnson C. Smith University, located at 100 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time; days and hours may vary. Details will be provided during the interview.

Requirements: Prior groundskeeping experience is required.

Pay Range: $13.00 to $19.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Plans and administers grounds and plant maintenance, including growing schedules and propagation. Performs tasks related to care of grasses and plants, trims, prunes, and removes shrubs, bushes, and trees. Also performs general janitorial duties, property inspections, landscaping, and grounds maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service with attention to detail.
• Inspects common areas and grounds; reports deficiencies.
• Maintains lawns, trims bushes, weeds flowerbeds, and shovels/ salts icy walkways in winter.
• Contributes to team efforts, exhibits professionalism, and performs other duties as assigned.
