Job summary

La Posada Green Valley, AZ is seeking a dedicated landscaping/gardening professional to maintain the property's grounds. Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, planting, mulching, irrigation, and routine upkeep of outdoor spaces to ensure a safe, beautiful campus for residents and visitors.

Candidates should be able to operate a range of lawn and garden tools, follow design plans, and perform light repairs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain landscape and grounds using manual or powered tools
• Mow, edge, trim lawns and shrubs with mowers and edgers
• Water lawns, trees, and plants using sprinkler systems, hoses, or cans
• Plant seeds, shrubs, flowers, and mulch for garden beds
• Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges with appropriate tools
• Repair and maintain fences, benches, and gardening equipment
• Follow landscape plans to lay sod, sow grass, or plant foliage
• Decorate gardens with rocks, plants, and decorative features
• Install irrigation systems and drainage as needed
• Clean up litter and debris from campus outdoor areas

Maintain the landscape and grounds of the property utilizing manual or powered tools and equipment. Workers are typically responsible for a range of tasks, including but not limited to planting grass, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, installing sprinkler systems, and landscaping materials.

• Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chain-saws, electric clippers, blowers, and pruning saws.


• Mow and edge lawns, using power mowers and edgers.


• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes.


• Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.


• Gather and remove litter from campus outdoor areas.


• Maintain and repair tools and equipment such as fences and benches, using hand and power tools.


• Water lawns, trees, and plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.


• Trim and pick flowers, and clean flower beds.


• Rake and dispose of leaves and other debris.


• Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage.


• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.


• Decorate gardens with stones and plants.


• Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste.


• Install rock gardens, ponds, decks, drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences, and/or planters.


• Build forms, and mix and pour cement to form garden borders or sidewalks.


• Spread fertilizers onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.


• Plan and cultivate lawns and gardens.
