Job summary

La Posada at Park Centre, Inc. is seeking a grounds maintenance worker to care for the landscape and outdoor spaces on site. You will use a range of hand and power tools to keep lawns, beds, and gardens looking their best while following provided designs and schedules.

The role involves operating mowers, tractors, trimmers, and other equipment, pruning shrubs, planting and watering, and performing general maintenance to ensure a safe, inviting campus for residents and visitors.

• Maintain the landscape and grounds of the property using manual or powered tools and equipment.
• Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, trimmers, clippers, blowers, and pruning saws.
• Mow and edge lawns; prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges; plant seeds, bulbs, and flowers.
• Water lawns, trees, and plants; rake leaves; spread mulch and fertilizers as needed.
• Follow planned landscaping designs to lay sod, sow grass, or plant foliage.

Maintain the landscape and grounds of the property utilizing manual or powered tools and equipment. Workers are typically responsible for a range of tasks, including but not limited to planting grass, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, installing sprinkler systems, and landscaping materials.

• Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chain-saws, electric clippers, blowers, and pruning saws.
• Mow and edge lawns, using power mowers and edgers.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes.
• Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
• Gather and remove litter from campus outdoor areas.
• Maintain and repair tools and equipment such as fences and benches, using hand and power tools.
• Water lawns, trees, and plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
• Trim and pick flowers, and clean flower beds.
• Rake and dispose of leaves and other debris.
• Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.
• Decorate gardens with stones and plants.
• Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste.
• Install rock gardens, ponds, decks, drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences, and/or planters.
• Build forms, and mix and pour cement to form garden borders or sidewalks.
• Spread fertilizers onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
• Plan and cultivate lawns and gardens.
