Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of maintenance, operation and repair of grounds keeping equipment such as mowers, weed eaters and blowers.
• Physical capability to move, place and carry heavy materials.
• Ability to detect major maintenance problems in equipment to prevent downtime.
• Extensive use of hand tools for grounds work.
• Refuse and litter control of city grounds and during public events.
• Foliage and debris removal throughout the year.
• Tree and shrub maintenance to meet community standards.
• Painting, light construction and landscaping of city property.

Responsibilities

• Maintain city parks, cemeteries, and city-owned facilities.
• Labor for maintenance support across Public Works departments.
• Attend public events to maintain litter control.
• Assist with burial site excavation support when needed.
• Perform duties with limited supervision as assigned by supervisor.
