Job summary

The University at Buffalo is seeking a Facility Operations Assistant 2 (Grounds) to lead a Grounds team performing recycling, cleaning, field maintenance, and snow/ice removal across campus. The role requires a valid NYS Class B CDL with tanker endorsement and a pesticide license path.

Candidates must be prepared to supervise staff, coordinate tasks, and participate in trainings while ensuring safety and reliable campus operations.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS Class B CDL with tanker endorsement at appointment.
• Must create a Clearinghouse account as part of the application.
• Category 3A NYS pesticide technician license by appointment.
• Must become a fully-certified pesticide applicator within one year.
• Authorized to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist grounds staff across labor classes.
• Oversee crew including SG-8 and SG-6 staff and student workers.
• Perform materials recycling, garbage collection, street sweeping and snow/ice removal.
• Maintain athletic fields and manage moving services as needed.
• Communicate with campus community and participate in trainings.
