Job summary

The University at Buffalo is seeking a Construction Equipment Operator within Campus Operations. You will operate, service, load and unload large motor vehicles and assist with snow/ice removal as part of grounds maintenance.

Minimum qualifications include a valid Class B CDL with tanker endorsement, Clearinghouse account creation, and at least one year of related experience. This is a full-time, safety-sensitive position located on campus in New York.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with no air brake restriction.
• Tanker endorsement required by start date.
• Must create Clearinghouse account as part of application.
• At least one year of full-time equipment operation experience in grounds/maintenance.
• Authorized to work in the United States by start date; sponsorship not guaranteed.

Responsibilities

• Operate large grounds maintenance equipment (backhoes, loaders, snow and ice removal gear) at least one third of the time.
• Assist with spraying, turf repair, fertilizing, grass cutting, pruning and planting projects.
• Drive large delivery vehicles, load/unload, transport freight.
• Perform routine service on vehicles/equipment (tires, fluids, plows, minor repairs).
• Move cargo on/off vehicles and remove snow/ice from paved surfaces.
• Perform manual labor related to campus grounds maintenance.

Position Summary

The University at Buffalo is currently seeking ConstructionEquipment Operators within Campus Operations. In this roleas a Construction Equipment Operator, you will be responsible forthe operation, routine servicing, loading and unload of large motorvehicles as well as the removal of snow and ice during the snowseason.

• Operating large garbage packers, backhoes, dump trucks,loaders, tractors, snow & ice removal equipment, and othergrounds maintenance equipment at least one third of the worktime.
• Assisting with spraying, turf repair, fertilizing, grasscutting, pruning and planting projects
• Driving large delivery vehicles, loading and unloading, andtransporting freight
• Routine service on motorized/ non-motorized vehicles andequipment which includes changing tires, lubrication, check and addfluids, install/remove snow plows, and perform minor repairs
• Moving cargo on and off vehicles
• Removing snow and ice from paved surfaces
• Performing manual labor associated with maintaining campusgrounds

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a valid class B Commercial Drivers License without anair brake restriction.

Physical Demands

Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Frequentlytransports boxes, materials, and/or equipment weighing up to 50pounds across campus utilizing provided tools.

Must be able to perform medium to heavy physical tasks, includingfrequent work in various weather conditions.

Salary Range

$40,391
