Tessera is seeking a Skilled and professional Grounds Maintenance Worker with a positive attitude.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintain and repair the grounds up to and around the facilities.
- Perform mowing, trimming, edging, weed and brush control.
- Pick up and remove all rubbish, debris, and trash (which includes, but is not limited to; rocks, paper, pinecones, limbs, and other portable objects) within the maintenance area and all trash, papers and limbs lodged in shrubs, hedges, fences, and along foundation walls.
- Load large wheel barrels with debris.
- Perform basic maintenance of grounds equipment.
- May operate a tractor and/or mower, weed eaters, chain saws, pressure washer and brush cutters.
- Demonstrate ability to multi‑task throughout workday, with constant interruptions;
- Utilize company cell phones.
- Respond to phone calls promptly.
- Remove snow from walkways, driveways, roads, or parking lots using shovel and snow blower, spreads salt on walkways and other areas.
Qualifications:
- 6 months experience in ground maintenance or prior laborer experience is preferred.
- Work both independently and in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
- Read and understand contract requirements and maps.
Physical Requirements:
- Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.
- The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.
- Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
- A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
- Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID‑compliant driver’s license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
