Job summary

Prestonwood Baptist Church is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Technician to support Plano campus outdoor operations. You will assist with landscaping, irrigation, and general exterior maintenance across church properties.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently or with a team, and physical stamina for outdoor work in varying temperatures. A valid driver’s license and forklift certification (or eligibility) are required, with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a Bible believing and preaching ministry.
• Experience with irrigation and landscaping preferred.
• Attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility, excellent judgement, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
• Possess current driver license, personal vehicle insurance and a clear driving record for clearance to drive PBC owned/rented vehicles.
• Possess and maintain forklift certification, or complete upon hire.
• Willing to work inside or outside in varying heat and cold consistent with outside weather conditions.
• Ability to work a Monday – Friday schedule.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach overhead and kneel on a consistent basis and be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance of landscaping and exterior spaces, including ballfields and lake areas.
• Survey exterior areas to determine irrigation needs and perform irrigation inspections and repairs.
• Operate equipment for moving dirt, rock, trash, or debris.
• Perform minor repairs to exterior repair equipment.
• Monitor campus grounds to assure safety and cleanliness.
• Assist with installation of campus banners and flags.
• Inspect and ensure structural integrity of driveways, parking areas, and sidewalks.
• Other duties as assigned.
