Job summary

Midwest Concrete Materials is seeking a full-time grounds maintenance worker to care for the exterior areas of our properties across Manhattan, KS. The role emphasizes mowing, edging, landscaping, irrigation, and general upkeep to keep sites safe, clean, and presentable for employees and visitors.

You will operate mowers and power tools, perform routine equipment maintenance, follow safety procedures, and work independently to identify and complete maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, edge, and maintain lawns and other outdoor areas at company properties.
• Maintain landscape beds, including weeding, pruning, mulching, planting, and general cleanup.
• Inspect irrigation systems and troubleshoot as needed.
• Operate mowers, utility vehicles, power equipment, hand tools safely.
• Perform routine equipment care and preventive maintenance.

Job description

Responsible for maintaining the grounds and exterior areas of company properties to ensure they are safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained. This position performs mowing, landscaping, irrigation, equipment maintenance, and other general property maintenance duties at various company locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, edge, and maintain lawns and other outdoor areas at company properties.
• Maintain landscape beds, including weeding, pruning, mulching, planting, and general cleanup.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain irrigation systems.
• Perform agricultural and general grounds maintenance as needed.
• Operate mowers, utility vehicles, power equipment, hand tools, and other grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform routine equipment care and preventive maintenance, including cleaning, fueling, lubricating, and properly storing equipment after use.
• Inspect equipment for maintenance or repair needs and promptly report problems.
• Maintain equipment and tools to maximize service life, reliability, and availability.
• Keep work areas, storage areas, and company grounds clean and organized.
• Follow company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work independently to identify and complete routine maintenance needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull heavy materials and equipment weighing anywhere from 50 to 80 pounds or more
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking across rough or uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and balancing
