Job summary

Bayside Fire in Owings Mills, MD, is seeking a full-time groundskeeper to care for lawns, gardens, and building upkeep as directed.

Ideal candidates have landscaping experience, are comfortable outdoors in all weather, hold a valid driver's license, and can lift 50 lbs or more. Salary is commensurate with experience and experience in outdoor property maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lawn care: mowing, edging, fertilizing and watering.
• Landscape maintenance: planting, pruning, mulching and weeding.
• Pest and disease control on plants and soil.
• Debris removal and general grounds upkeep.
• Snow and ice removal in winter months.
• Equipment maintenance for mowers and trimmers.
• Building maintenance and minor repairs as directed.

Job description

Candidate will be responsible for maintaining outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, and other landscaped spaces as well as building maintenance for properties as directed.

Specific Duties

• Lawn Care – mowing, edging, fertilizing and watering
• Landscape Maintenance – planting flowers, trees, shrubs, and other plants; weeding, mulching and pruning
• Pest and Disease Control – applying pesticides, herbicides, and other treatments to plants and soil
• Debris Removal – clearing leaves, branches and other waste from the grounds
• Snow and Ice Removal – clearing snow and ice from walkways, parking lots and other areas during winter months
• Equipment Maintenance – maintaining and repairing landscaping equipment like mowers and trimmers
• Building Maintenance – performing routine or preventative maintenance and troubleshooting and repairing minor mechanical issues
• General Upkeep – sweeping walkways, emptying trash and performing minor repairs

Requirements

• Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or groundskeeping
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Maintain a valid driver's license
• Must be able to lift 50lbs+
