Job summary

Springbrook NY Inc in Town of Oneonta, NY is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to provide hands-on leadership in lawn care, landscape maintenance, and snow removal. You will organize and oversee grounds-related work and ensure safety and compliance with agency policies.

You'll manage staff work plans, coordinate equipment operation, and respond to on-call emergencies while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety across all Springbrook grounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited technical or vocational program preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of grounds maintenance and/or construction with supervisory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of equipment and methods used in lawn care and landscaping.
• Working knowledge of equipment and methods used in snow removal operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work extended hours and respond to on-call situations as needed.
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with all levels of personnel.
• Must meet requirements to operate a Springbrook vehicle.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, pruning, soil prep, planting, mulching, and leaf removal.
• Perform all phases of snow removal including plowing, salting, shoveling, and roof clearing.
• Assume a maintenance leadership role through direct workload participation and oversight of grounds-related activities.
• Develop and manage staff work plans based on agency needs and goals.
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment for staff and the individuals we support.
• Maintain and enforce agency policies and procedures.
• Operate land-clearing and earth-moving equipment as needed.
• Maintain work areas, equipment, and tools in safe and working condition.
• Assume accountability for agency equipment and ensure proper care and usage.
• Perform all duties in accordance with current safety standards and best practices.
• Respond to emergency situations and on-call requests as required.
• Adhere to all Springbrook policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
