Job summary

Berkshire East Mountain Resort is seeking a hardworking Lead Groundskeeper to oversee outdoor maintenance and safety across the resort. You will perform hands-on landscaping while supervising a small crew, preparing grounds for winter ski season and spring/summer use to ensure a pristine guest experience from arrival to departure.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of progressive groundskeeping experience, preferably in resort or hospitality.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct a team.
• Must be physically fit, able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on uneven terrain.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: supervise, train, and schedule daily tasks for the groundskeeping crew.
• Grounds Maintenance: oversee lawn care, weed control, pruning, planting, and mulching of beds and common areas.
• Winter Operations: lead snow and ice removal with plows, snowblowers, and hand tools; apply sand and de-icers.
• Property Upkeep: ensure parking lots, walkways, and access points are clean and safe.
• Equipment Management: operate and maintain power tools, mowers, tractors, and snow equipment.
• Safety Compliance: monitor hazards and ensure pesticide/chemical applications comply with regs.
• Facilities: maintain buildings and testing equipment as needed.
• Guest Service: provide courteous directions and assistance to guests.
