Job summary

San Antonio Water System is seeking a Maintenance Inspector to oversee contractors performing lawn maintenance, landscaping, and tree trimming at SAWS sites. You will ensure work meets contract terms and provide written reports.

Requirements include a high school diploma and at least two years in grounds maintenance. Must have a valid Class C license and ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment. This role requires flexibility for varied schedules and field conditions.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience performing grounds maintenance, landscaping or related work.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lawn maintenance contractors for 300+ sites and related activities.
• Coordinate schedules between contractors, SAWS departments, customers and agencies.
• Interpret and enforce SAWS lawn maintenance contracts written and verbal.
• Ensure security of SAWS stations/properties and prepare written reports/forms.
• Apply standard grounds maintenance, landscaping and safety procedures.
• Complete daily reports of contractor performance and review.
• Maintain effective working relationships with customers and the public.
• Perform emergency lawn maintenance, landscaping, tree trimming, and minor repairs.
• Extract bees/creatures nesting in meter boxes and SAWS areas.
• Create, update and close work orders in computerized systems.
• File work orders and submit monthly reports to upper management.
• Distribute crucial information via email to personnel.
