Job summary

Seattle Center, a department of the City of Seattle, seeks a Grounds Laborer to perform routine manual labor and cleaning on Seattle Center grounds. Reports to the Landscape Supervisor and Grounds Maintenance Lead Worker.

First shift – Thursdays through Mondays starting at 6:30 am; days off will be Tuesday and Wednesday. Responsibilities include maintaining park grounds and facilities, operating hand and small power tools, setting up event infrastructure, transporting materials, and assisting

Qualifications

General laboring/manual work ability.
Good physical condition and handling of hand/power tools.
Valid Washington State driver license and clean driving record.
Forklift certification within 90 days of appointment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine manual labor in various outdoor areas.
Clean and maintain park grounds, event spaces, garden areas, parking facilities, buildings, and restrooms.
Provide manual assistance and operate hand and small power tools and perform minor repairs.
Set up event support infrastructure and barricades; protect work sites.
Transport, load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies.
May operate pickups and forklifts; perform basic maintenance checks.
Assist in gardening and grounds tasks; provide public information to visitors.
