Job summary

Seattle Center is hiring a Grounds Laborer to perform routine outdoor maintenance and cleaning across the Seattle Center grounds. The role reports to the Landscape Supervisor and supports the Grounds Maintenance Lead Worker, with first shift hours starting at 6:30 am on Thursdays through Mondays.

Responsibilities include ground and facility upkeep, use of hand and small power tools, event setup, material handling, and basic vehicle operations.

Qualifications

Ability to perform general laboring/manual work, good physical condition, and the ability to work with hand and power tools is required.
Must possess a valid Washington State driver license and a good driving record.
Must possess or achieve certification as a forklift operator within 90 days of appointment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine manual labor in a variety of outdoor work areas.
Maintain park grounds, event spaces, gardens, parking facilities, buildings, and restrooms.
Provide manual assistance to other workers and use hand and small power tools; perform minor adjustments and repairs to equipment and assets.
Set event support infrastructure, barricades, and provide work site protection as directed.
Transport, load, and unload materials, equipment and supplies.
May operate pickups and other small motorized vehicles or forklifts; perform minor repairs, lubrication and safety checks.
Assist in gardening and grounds maintenance: weeding, leaf blowing, raking, litter/brush/ leaves removal; assist in play area maintenance.
Provide customer service to the public visiting Seattle Center by exchanging or providing information when requested.
