Job summary

City of Kings Mountain is seeking a grounds maintenance worker to assist in city property upkeep. Work is performed outdoors under supervision, operating mowers, trimmers, and related equipment.

This position involves manual labor, ability to follow instructions, and exposure to varying weather conditions. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and comply with safety requirements as part of the Public Works team.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience in grounds maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of lawn care equipment: mowers, string trimmer, edger, blower.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operating equipment for cutting and trimming grass, trees, and shrubs.
• Pick up trash and debris around city property and empty containers.
• Perform related tasks as required to support the Public Works Department.
• Take on additional duties as deemed necessary by management.
