Job summary

City of Kings Mountain is seeking a dependable Grounds Maintenance Aide to assist in lawn and grounds upkeep for city property. Under direct supervision, you will operate basic equipment and support the crew in daily outdoor tasks.

This role requires physical stamina, the ability to follow written and oral instructions, and willingness to perform overtime or standby work as needed by the Public Works Department. Experience with mowing, trimming and debris collection is preferred.

Qualifications

• Background in grounds maintenance and operating related equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform strenuous outdoor labor in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assists in operating equipment for cutting and trimming grass, trees, shrubbery.
• Picks up trash and debris around city property and empties trash containers.
• Performs related tasks as required.
• Performs additional duties for Public Works Department as needed by management.
