Job summary

City of Kings Mountain seeks a motivated worker to perform manual labor in the maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and rights-of-way. You will work under supervision as part of a crew led by a Street Equipment Operator.

Responsibilities include loading materials, patching holes, placing signage, and assisting in mowing and debris cleanup. Candidates should be able to perform heavy labor outdoors and follow safety rules.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write and any combination of experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Participates in replacing, repairing, installing, fabricating and erecting street signs.
• Performs various street maintenance duties such as repairing curbs, patching holes, spreading asphalt and repairing sidewalks.
• Loads and unloads gravel, dirt, chemicals, and other materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assists in the maintenance of city rights-of-way by picking up trash in front of mowing.
• May assist in cutting grass and trees.
• Clean work areas, spills, or scattered debris around collection sites.
