Job summary

J&J Worldwide Services is hiring a Grounds Lead to maintain grounds for industrial and commercial properties, including athletic fields. You will supervise a crew and assist with road, walk and building repairs, using a range of hand and power tools.

The role requires five years of related experience, a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read and write English. This is an outdoor, hands-on position with background screening as part of the process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years work experience in grounds/maintenance or related field.
• Ability to work without supervision and follow directions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to read, write and understand basic English.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a government background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds according to schedule for industrial/commercial properties and athletic fields.
• Supervise crew and assist in repairs of roads, walks, buildings and equipment.
• Prune shrubs/trees and perform edging, mowing and debris cleanup.
• Operate power equipment (edgers, hedge trimmers, chain saws, tractor/loaders).
• Perform minor repairs to equipment and assist with other duties as assigned.

Salary:

$26.15 per hour + $7.00 per hour fringe rate

Work Environment

• Applicant will work outside during their entire shift. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during working hours.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
