Job summary

Fulton County Schools is seeking a skilled grounds maintenance worker to perform a variety of tasks including field maintenance, irrigation control setup, and equipment operation. You will read specifications to complete assignments and ensure safe, efficient execution of work in outdoor settings.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in grounds work, a high school diploma or GED, and a Georgia driver’s license with CDL eligibility.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Georgia Driver License required.
Eligible to acquire CDL.
Must be insurable by Fulton County School insurance carriers.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in grounds trade.

Responsibilities

Uses blueprints, schematics, drawings, layouts to complete tasks.
Operates hand tools, testing equipment, small power tools and large equipment like backhoe and skid loader.
Maintains clean worksites and properly stores tools and materials.
Shows knowledge of tools and safety practices used in the grounds trade.
Maintains irrigation controls and programming; plans repairs.
Decides methods, equipment, and materials for cost-effective fixes.
Performs other duties as assigned by the administrator.
Works outdoors in varied weather; climbs ladders and operates elevated access as needed.
